Jo Jo Newbold: High Performance Lifestyle
Why Jo Jo came to FirstHand Health:
Jo Jo is a kayaker whose goal was to finish respectably in the Missouri 340 Kayak Race: a 340-mile race of endurance. She had never participated in a "flat-water" river race and she needed help to achieve the fitness and performance levels required to complete the race. She was interested in an approach that would help her to grow in body, mind and spirit.
What we did to help Jo Jo:
To improve Jo Jo's physical performance we prescribed a program of Chiropractic adjustments and Applied Kinesiology. The program was designed to alleviate neck and shoulder pain, as well as balance and strengthen her body. We instructed her in relaxation techniques and meditation to help her visualize her aspirations. We used muscle testing to diagnose food sensitivities and identify high performance foods, as well as counselling her on making healthier food choices.
To address Jo Jo's spiritual needs, we used a combination of NET and Spiritual Counselling to clear emotional blocks regarding her fear of water. We helped her identify and let go of anger and frustration, and facilitated the release of sadness that was internalized for many years. By guiding Jo Jo toward spiritual clarity, we strengthened her connection to God and her faith in her self.
