Sally Coleman: Pain and Weight Loss
Why Sally came to FirstHand Health:
Sally initially came in for weight loss, and to make some dietary changes. She suffered from low back and hip pain with painful sciatica in the leg. Sally had been diagnosed with lumbar stenosis. Due to the pain, she was forced to stop her walking regime, which was important for her plan to lose excess weight that was contributing to her pain.
What we did to help Sally:
Blood tests revealed that Sally had high cholesterol, complicated by dysfunctional thyroid and blood sugar levels, all of which were causing inflammatory responses in her body. Further testing told us that Sally was hypersensitive to some foods, further adding to her inflammatory response. With our help, she made changes in her diet to eliminate some foods and increase the amount of fruits and vegetables. We prescribed botanical supplements to decrease cholesterol levels, balance sugar and thyroid metabolism. To treat her pain we used a combination of chiropractic adjustments, Miracle Ball exercises, and Acupuncture techniques and botanical supplements were added to help her balance her whole system for better healing of the stenosis and ensuing low back and leg pain.
